About the Author

Boguslaw Cyganek received his M.Sc. degree in electronics in 1993, then in computer science in 1996 from the AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow, Poland. He obtained his Ph.D. degree cum laude in 2001 with a thesis on correlation of stereo images, and D.Sc. degree in 2011 with a thesis on methods and algorithms of object recognition in digital images. During the recent years, Dr. Boguslaw Cyganek has been cooperating with many scientific centers in development of computer vision systems. He has also gained several years of practical experience working as a Software Development Manager and a Senior Software Engineer both in the USA and Poland. He is currently a researcher and lecturer at the Department of Electronics, AGH University of Science and Technology. His research interests include computer vision, pattern recognition, as well as development of programmable devices and embedded systems. He is an author or a co-author of over eighty conference and journal papers and four books including An Introduction to 3D Computer Vision Techniques and Algorithms published by Wiley. Dr. Cyganek is a member of the IEEE, IAPR and SIAM.

I started reading this captivating book at 11:45 pm one night and before I knew it, it was the early hours of the morning and I had read it cover to cover. I cried through much of it and literally could not put it down. It's days later and I still can't stop thinking about what Stephanie went through. It's made me more thankful for all the little things we often take for granted and while I can't relate to the many unthinkable horrors Stephanie went through, it's a wonderful reminder of God's love for each of us & what we can do to help others.After reading it, I had to go on YouTube to hear Stephanie tell her stories firsthand. I have an adopted aunt from Korea who experienced some of the same things and like Stephanie for many years has tried to ignore that part of her life, but despite her love for God, I know she still has a lot of anger to work through. I am ordering more copies to mail to her & the rest of my family in the hope that it helps her on her path to healing. I am eagerly waiting on the edge of my seat for Stephanie's second book!

I wanted this book to be over when I was about halfway through. I heard Stephanie speak at a concert about a year ago and was broken by the realities that her story spoke of then. When her book was offered for free for kindle I knew I needed to read the rest.Her life, in the early years, was tragic and heart breaking and real. What is even more heartbreaking is that this story is just one of millions that could be told.Preparing her as an advocate for foreign and rejected children the world over.This book serves as a good reminder, in general, but even more for me of what God is calling me in to.

I read this entire book in one night because I simply could not put it down. Just an incredible story on so many levels. I don't think I could survive if left outside for a week, let alone as a young helpless child left alone to survive for years. God's hand is so apparent throughout this story, and I was greatly moved and greatly encouraged by Stephanie's transparency. May God bless this book and give us all a heart to reach out and help the helpless around the world.

This story is very inspirational, gives hope and shows God's unconditional love. I had the privilege of knowing the adoptive parents of Stephanie Fast. They were amazing people and my life is enriched because I knew them. I recommend this book because it is such an amazing story of God's sustaining power and purpose.

Stephanie is the child of a Korean girl and an American GI and will always be an outcast in the Korean culture. she is finally abandoned by her mother and has to learn to live and survive as best she can. She is taunted and tortured by other outcast children. She steals food when possible and learns which weeds are edible. She manages to survive the cold winters in fox holes. Constantly cold and hungry she searches for her mother until she is hopelessly lost. Wandering to a city she is abused until she is rescued by a mission and kept there until an American missionary couple adopts her. It is a heart breaking story and I wept many times while reading. The ending is happy, but one wonders how many of these children have managed to survive.

This book took the reader through the horrors of what life was like for a mixed racially shunned child after the Korean War. The tender age of the writer and the abuses she expierenced will haunt me forever . The awe in the child's mind at being adopted by a missionary couple, that seemed like Giants to her. She is now an advocate in society for the women and children that suffer worldwide. Her story brought tears to my eyes in places. It is hard not to feel compassion and respect for her. My copy came from Amazon. Please buy and read this heroic book.

After the Korean War in the early 1950's, thousands of children were left homeless. This is, as the author says, her own story told as if she was someone else, because there were so many other Korean and half-breed children who went through the same abuses that Yoon Myoung did. It is a testament to the ability of God to truly save the life of a child whom no one but her mother thought was worth anything. Heartbreaking, devastating, but ultimately positive, it will make you sit up and take notice of the world around you and the darkness that is always hiding behind the light. Incredible what this tiny girl was able to accomplish in her own, simply because she must live.

I splurged on myself last evening and bought this book that I have wanted for a year or more. Oh, my goodness! With a book this good normally I would say that I stayed up until 3 a.m. and finished it, however, it is so beautifully written that, rather than rushing ahead, I am savoring its every word. Stephanie Fast is a true wordsmith.If you are interested in Korea, war history, are touched by adoption in any way, or just love an amazing true story...do yourself a favor and read this phenomenally well written book.

It was Elder Taylor's intention to superintend the publishing of "The Government of God" in person, previous to his departure for Great Salt Lake City last spring; but the numerous cares attending the French and German Missions, of which he was President; the translation of the Book of Mormon into the French and German languages; the establishment of L'Etiole du Déséret at Paris, and Zions Panier at Hamburg; together with a multitude of other business connected with the welfare of the Kingdom of God, rendered it impossible.

The manuscript was therefore handed to me by Elder Taylor, with a request to superintend the printing of the work, which I have done to the best of my ability.

Considering the disadvantages arising from the Author's absence during the reading of the proofs, I believe it is as correctly rendered as was possible from a manuscript copy.

The Work is now before the Public, and from one portion at least it will meet with a cordial reception, treating as it does upon the theme most dear to their hearts - the Reign of Righteousness and Peace.

This book is the second half of the study guide for the CCNA CyberOps certification (and exams). Like the one before it, it is supposed to offer something to learn and apply to your work, to spark your interest in order to study more details on the subject and, most importantly, to help you pass the certification exam. However, this book fails miserably in all aspects (the first one in the series was a bit more helpful in the exam part). Like the one before it, it is full of errors, fragments, scattered and repeating information, even marginal language. Having attended the exam, I can add that it is also a bad study guide, as the Q&A and the exam practices that it includes are much easier than the exam (and also full of errors). The two books could have easily been one book, as the second book is very small, it is largely consumed by tables and it repeats several subjects from the first book. I seems as if they split the books and the exams for monetary reasons. This book is the classic proof that being well educated (or well certified) does not mean that a writer can write a good book. In this book's case though, I doubt that the writer is even an educated engineer. There are many "gems" of "engineering" in this book, but I'll give just one extreme example: in pg. 205 it is stated: "Network throughput is typically measured in bandwidth and delays are identified as latency". I rest my case.

Good reference to learn about cyberattacks, methods and steps followed by the Incident Response Team. It's a good help for the test, but looks for other material online to pass the test.

A must have for anyone that's studying for this cert! Thank you Omar!!! =)
